ABSTRACT (in English; 12 pt Constantia)
An abstract must be included in every article. The abstract only contains an explanation of the research (without images, tables, equations, or reference quotes), with a length of 200-250 words and written in one paragraph. Abstracts are written in two languages, namely English and Indonesian. The abstract structure includes: (1) Background: Relates the research question to a broader context and explains the research objectives; (2) Method: Briefly describe the method used; (3) Results: Summarize the main findings of the study; and (4) Conclusion: Presents the main conclusions or interpretations. Number of keywords 3-5 words. This keyword is required for computerization. Searching for research titles and abstracts is made easier with these keywords.
Keywords: maximum 5 keywords.
ABSTRACT (Indonesian; 12 pt Constantia) Keywords: maximum 5 keywords.
INTRODUCTION (Constantia, size 12, 1 space)
The introduction must briefly explain the background of the problem raised in the study. In this section, it is important to convey the reasons why the topic is relevant to research. Provide a comprehensive definition and discussion of the topic and integrate views from previous literature or research to support, refute, or demonstrate your study's position. If necessary, emphasize controversial or different hypotheses. In addition, the purpose of the study should also be explained in this section.
For articles to be published in AL MIDAD: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Studi Keislaman, must follow the article format according to the provisions set by the journal. The article format contained in this Guideline is a general guideline agreed upon for AL MIDAD: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Studi Keislaman, which is the standard writing style for this journal.
METHOD (Constantia, size 12, 1 space)
The research method is presented in paragraph form with a maximum of 2 paragraphs. In this section, the research approach, type of research, data collection techniques, and data analysis are explained. The explanation in this section should provide a detailed description of the research that has been carried out. It is better to avoid organizing writing using "sub-headings" in this section.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION (Constantia, size 12, 1 space)
This section is the main part of the article that presents the research results, and is usually the longest part of an article. The results presented in this section are "clean" results, so that the data analysis process, such as statistical calculations and hypothesis testing, do not need to be explained. All that needs to be reported are the results of the analysis and the results of the hypothesis testing. Tables and graphs can be used to clarify the presentation of research results verbally, and both must be accompanied by comments or discussions.
For qualitative research, the results section presents details in the form of sub-topics that are directly related to the focus of the research and categories. The discussion in the article aims to: (1) answer the formulation of the problem and research questions; (2) show how the findings were obtained; (3) interpret the findings; (4) relate the research results to existing knowledge; and (5) produce new theories or modify existing theories.
In answering the formulation of the problem and research questions, the results must be concluded explicitly. Interpretation of the findings is carried out with relevant logic and theory. Findings in the field are integrated with the results of previous research or with existing theories, with the necessary references. When generating new theories, old theories can be confirmed or rejected, and some may require modification.
Figures and Tables [12 pt. Constantia]: Place the table label above the table, while the figure label is placed below the figure. Write the table specifically, such as Table 1, and so on.
CONCLUSION (Constantia, size 12, 1 space)
The conclusion presents a summary of the results and discussion that refer to the research objectives. From these two aspects, new main ideas are developed that reflect the essence of the research findings. This conclusion should be written in the range of 250-300 words and consist of a maximum of 2 paragraphs.
REFERENCES (Constantia, size 12, single spacing)
References should be cited both in the text and in the reference list, following the Chicago Manual of Style 16th Edition (using the footnote model). If references are not formatted correctly, the editor will return your submission for correction. Authors are advised to use a reference management tool such as Zotero, Mendeley, or Endnote.
Ensure that all information in the manuscript taken from other sources is supported by in-text citations. The bibliography should include a minimum of 20 references, with all citations taken from recent publications, i.e., those published within the last 10 years.
