Abstract

This article is written based on the importance of a good understanding of the istinbath method in Islamic law. Istinbath refers to efforts to draw legal conclusions from sources of sharia such as the Qur'an, Hadith, Ijma, and Qiyas. In the context of the dynamic development of Islamic law, understanding this method is very important to provide solutions to legal problems faced by Muslims. Therefore, this article aims to provide an overview of various aspects of the istinbath method of Islamic law, as well as its relationship to the exploration of Islamic law. The writing method used in this article is a literature study with a descriptive-analytical approach. The author conducted a review of relevant literature, such as in Islamic law journals that discuss istinbath. The results of the study show that the istinbath method has a very vital role in providing legal answers to new problems that have no previous precedent. In addition, the correct application of the istinbath method can produce flexible Islamic law that is able to answer the challenges of the times.
